Games

We may not pin the donkey today.

So, don't even worry about the blindfold...

Just think about the cue on pool.

General Information

We bring you the fun with twenty-nine (29) games in total. Some of the games are not children friendly (reserved for adult session only). If a game is an adult only game, it will not be available for play before 04:00PM. Please refer to the program schedule of events. Additionally only competition games will be listed here. The games will be spread across the yard in the residence at different locations.

A player may practice on any available game but priority is given to competition. A competition call is made when a player who is qualified to compete indicates his or her intention to do so, and the referee blows the whistle, calling spectators to that location. The game is however turned back to the practicing players after the competition. A Co-ordinating volunteer will make effort to answer any game related question and agree with both contestants if they choose to modify or bend the rules of that game to their safety and convenience. We will maintain a score board with details of winnings and individual or group advancement towards the trophy. (Must be 18+ for trophy tournament).

Each game station requires a Coordination Volunteer for proper procedures and safety. Every player must follow the instruction and guidance of the volunteer. We will have each game rule at the information table. Feel free to stop by at any time for game rules reminder or tips.

While some games require a team on either side, others are single player games. Please note that you don't have to be a competitor to get involved in any game. Feel free to pick up the rock and roll with it!

A contestant is allowed to win only two different games. He or she may continue to play any game but not as a contestant after the second winning.

List of Competition Games and their rules

a. Ping-Pong

This can be played by Singles and Teams of two. When available, non contestants can practice on it. This game may be played by adults only. Two or more players up to four (4) players. The ball must first bounce on your side and then in your opponents. Your opponent must allow the ball to hit their side of the table before trying to return this. The ball must pass cleanly over the net – if it 'clips' the net and goes over, it is a 'let' and the serve is retaken. Eleven points to win.

b. Volley Ball

This can be played by Teams only. When available, non contestants can practice on it. This game may be played by adults only.

The adults already know this... no?!

c. Badminton

This is a team's only game. When available, non contestants can practice on it. This game may be played by adults only.

Similar to the rules of Volley above. Sorry we are not going to stress the facts here.

d. Corn hole

The art of throwing the corn bags reminds me of hard labor on a maize farm! Some kids might be up to it, but most may not. However, we are leaving this game open to teenagers and it can be played as singles or teams.

e. Dancing

The fun-begins! A set of selected judges will decide who moves forward and who wins in a dance off. Music selection can be by request to the DJ or picked by Adam, the birthday boy. This is a children only activity but may have parental support.

f. Singing

During this item, a microphone will be given to the contestant who will request a song and sing along. Everyone is welcome to contest. A set of selected judges will decide who wins.

g. Arts/Drawing

We will distribute materials to all contestants. Their art work will be displayed for photos with the celebrant and a set of selected judges will decide who wins.

h. Bag Racing

It's a running sack! Open to both children and adults. This game has no practice time.

i. Hula Hoop

What goes around comes back around

I thought I told ya,... Hey, hey (Justin Timberlake) . This game can be played by both children and adults. (Note: Except where age matters, teenagers are classified under the adult games). We just want to know how long you can keep the loop. Maximum of 60 seconds for children and maximum of 120 seconds for teenagers and adults.

j. Get a bucket!

This home invented game requires the contestant to bounce a ball in a circle into a bucket which contains a challenge, if the contestant faces that challenge and accomplishes it, he or she is automatically a winner.

k. Base Striker

How hard can you bat the ball? Simply the farthest wins.

l. Tug of War

We pull, we tug but no war! We only want to drag our competitors closer. The closest wins.

m. Connect Four

This is a giant version. Fun for the whole family, played by all ages and singles or teams. We try to connect all like colors vertically diagonally or horizontally.

n. Jenga

It's not luck that you can grow and maintain your status... But we grow stronger when we keep our focus while we build. How high can you go, before you break down? Fun for the whole family, played by all ages and singles or teams.

o. The Twister

C'mon baby, let's do the twist... It's not the song, just check out the rules and get with the program. WARNING! You may get twisted under a stranger. Teenagers and above only.

p. Obstacle challenge

Complete course in the shortest time to win.
